Do we demand countless tanker ships filled with cheap plastic, disposable goods/clothing, hydroponic, tasteless food, and electronics that wear out and break, billions of dollars worth of incentive for big business to extract as much oil, mine as many minerals, metals, etc. and get these products to our store shelves? Not wanting a pipeline in our backyard but filling your house with plastic wares is almost the equivalent of wanting to eat a steak without a cow getting butchered.
Personally, I believe in quality over quantity, even quality over nothing. If a product takes millions of years worth of dinosaurs decaying, several hours of production, days and days of shipping and freighting, only to get into my hands to have a five-minute or a five-day lifespan before it gets tossed into the garbage to sit for all eternity to break it down - it isn't worth buying.
I feel like I might be ranting and repeating myself, so let me give you a little taste of quality, a little sip of happiness that will make you forget about all of that cheap, disposable stuff that you didn't need to begin with... I present to you:
My Mother's (not-so-secret) Ceasar Recipe
Blend the following together with a fork or a mini-whisk:
-Wasabi paste
-Ginger paste
-Worcestershire sauce
-Saracha sauce
-Fresh lemon/lime juice
Add as much Vodka as you think is sensible or not sensible, but add it a little at a time, so that you blend it with the above ingredients into a smooth and increasingly thin paste. Add:
-Clamato (or Tomato juice for them Vegans!)
Garnish with fresh cracked pepper, your favourite pickled things, a prawn, whatever you like!
Life is full of little things, in fact, that's all there is...
