I started off with Daniel Bellefeuille - who recently released an album called "Hello River". He came out to support our "Score Slam" and wrote me this really cool cello piece on the spot. I went home and listened to this album start to finished, and enjoyed all of the unexpected twists and turns that he takes his listeners on.
| When I heard that my friend Angie Inglis was fundraising to record another album, I knew I wanted to help her reach her goal. She has wrapped up her fundraising (click here to read more) and click on the image to the left to hear one of her previous recordings. She has the most incredibly sincere voice.... |
I had no regrets about promoting the Piano and Erhu Project with Corey Hamm and Nicole Li on day five - I went to their concert at Music on Main's Modulus Festival and was blown away!
By day six I realized I still had so many amazing friends to share that I was worried about leaving people out... It was my birthday that day, and I couldn't think of more amazing people to spend it with NO MOTHERS (www.nomothers.ca):
Aaaaaand then I thought I would give this guy an internet hug as Doug Koyama is INTERNATIONALLY RENOWNED for his hugs: http://koyama.bc.ca
Day nine went to Leah Barley who recently recorded this wonderful EP along with John Kastelic (from No Mothers), Paul Albert, Kirk Adair Douglas, Wataru Uno, Corrina Keeling, and myself. It is a beautiful and heartfelt album that was brought to you by the power of crowd-funding!
| Next, check out Rodney DeCroo - this is the man that took me to Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival and helped inspire me to do something a little bit more theatrical (*cough* http://sidewalkcellist.bpt.me/). |
I met Vasili Frankos while on tour around North America. He showed me the ropes of busking in Washington DC, which has been one of the best busking cities that I have ever been to! |
